Random Tuesday Answers - from last week

My dear blogging buddy Cheryl had a great Random Tuesday post about beaches last week. As my life was pretty chaotic then, I put the idea on a back burner to post about later. Since it's Tuesday again, I thought maybe I could answer her questions today.

Question 1: What was the first beach you ever visited? That would be the beach at Presque Isle State Park in Erie, Pennsylvania. Coincidentally, that was on Lake Erie, the smallest of the Finger Lakes. My Aunt Letty and Uncle Bill lived in Erie, PA and I spent a part of every summer with them. My Uncle Bill loved the beach and was the best sport. I spent part of last evening looking for pictures of the two of us at the beach. He let me bury him in the sand, played beach games and swam with me every summer for years. I'm sure those wonderful beach days with him and my aunt were the beginning of my love of beaches .
Question 2: What was the last beach you visited? Sadly to say, I last visited a beach in 2007. That was a great trip to Panama City Beach, FL to spend time with our friends, Jeff and Jan, at their beach condo. PCB is by far the favorite beach I have visited. The beautiful white sand against the blue water is just a perfect place for relaxing and enjoying the beach.

Question 3: What is the furthest beach you have visited? That also would PCB, FL.

Question 4: What is your favorite beach activity? When we are at the beach, I take my beach chair, my umbrella, my books, iPod and some drinks to the beach around 9 A.M. I take a break for lunch and go back to spend the rest of the day there. I read, walk the beach and wade in the water a little. I am so totally relaxed. It is the most laid back I ever get.

Question 5: What is your favorite beach food or drink? I don't quite know how to answer that. I am always hungry when I come in from the beach so everything tastes good to me. When Jim and I were at PCB ten years ago, we would have Dove or Hagen Das ice cream bars every afternoon. I guess that would my favorite.

Question 6: Do you have beach plans for this summer? Although we have talked a little about Panama City Beach in late summer, we don't know if that will happen. We do, however, have plans to go to Martha's Vineyard in Massachusetts next week. Jim and I have never been to Cape Cod before and are looking forward to a couple of days there. It will be a fun vacation as we plan a few days in Boston first.
And last, Cheryl suggests we post a few beach pictures.

I saw many beach houses on this last trip, but this was my favorite.

Next week I'll have some pictures from Boston and Cape Cod to share. Have a great Wednesday.

Hi Pam,

That was a fun read about beaches. Funny you should mention Lake Erie. When I came to America as a young teen, we lived in the Cleveland, Ohio area, and our favorite hang out was Edgewater Beach, on Lake Erie. Later it became very polluted, but in the early to mid-fifties, it was very nice. Had lots of fun there. My favorite beach was in St. Petersburg, Fl.

Love that beach house! Of course, I could never afford something grand like that, but I love my little log cabin on the river!

Have a wonderful time in Boston and Cape Cod. That should be a fantastic vacation. Oh, the pictures you will have for us!

Hugs,

Renie

I would love to see Cape Cod sometime (and Boston too...all that history. Ahh!!). I'll try not to rub it in too much that we're heading out to PCB in two days. :-)
