A Day in the Life, Friday and Saturday

Posting on my blog has been one of my first priorities each day this past week. Today, I hesitate. I know it's because I am reluctant to bid farewell to this project. I can't tell you what fun this has been for me, and for Jim too. He reminds me to take my camera when we leave the house, and points out things of interest for me to photograph.
We've missed some good things too. I didn't get my camera out in time to get a good shot of the beautiful, blue heron we saw on the canal path one day. I forgot to take a shot of the yummy donuts we ate. Most of all, I dropped the ball on Saturday (as you will see). I have very few pictures of Saturday. By way of excuse, I will say I stayed up way too late on Friday night, it was a dreary, rainy day on Saturday and well, I just blew it. Please forgive me as you view the "Last Days in the Life". Sounds horrible when I put it that way. Anyway, here we go...

Friday is weigh-in day. I didn't gain in spite of all our "evil ideas".

We'll see what "they" did to my cholesterol count. It was off to the lab first thing in the morning, even before coffee. I took my travel mug along so I could have a drink as soon as I left the lab. Isn't that pathetic? And it's decaffeinated. Talk about mental addiction!

Signs of the times! Is this common in all parts of the country? Regardless of who wins, I think I'll be relieved next Wednesday just to have all the advertising end. Every day, Jim and I ask each other, "Just who do you believe?". I think the answer is, "Nobody".

Peter came to fix the leak around our vent pipe which caused a leak in our upstairs bathroom. What fun!

Maia, Peter's dog, came along. I tried to get a picture of her and ended up getting a picture of both of us. She is such a good dog. Peter said I could let her out, but I worry about the highway.

Meanwhile, back on the canal path. This is another section of the path. We are working our way toward our goal of walking from Newark to Macedon. If the weather allows, we will make it with ease. I plan to do a post just about the canal path at some point.

Proof that it pays to walk. Jim found $.44. Granted, it's not a $1,000 poker chip, but every little bit counts, right?

Isn't this a cute little boat? We were tempted to take it for a little ride, but thought better of it. The owner was standing just a few feet away.

Do we scrap more or eat more? Good question.

Just part of the breakfast bar on Saturday morning. Here is where I "goofed". We had a quick breakfast and then went back to the work room. I had to leave by 1 PM, so was very seriously working and didn't get many pictures.

When I left the hotel, I went straight to church where we had a kitchen shower for our church kitchen. It was raining cats and dogs and I left my camera in the car. Hence no pictures of the eighteen women and their lovely gifts to our church kitchen. We had posted a list of things we needed and received over and above what we had asked for, as well as monetary donations to purchase needed things. It was a wonderful way to spend a rainy afternoon.

Oh yes, here is the fruit of my labor. I finished seven months of my calendar project. As you can see, it was stamping, not scrap booking, but we're pretty flexible about what participants work on.

As I end this "Day in the Life" project, I do so reluctantly. It has been such fun. I highly recommend it. I am so anxious, now, to put it together in a scrapbook. Laurie had just the right book. She purchased it at Hobby Lobby which is now on my list of places to visit later this week. I'm going to take a rest for a few days and try to absorb what a great week this has been.

Oh My Word! I have been enjoying your days! What a great idea, I may have to copy it some time! heehee! They say that imitation is the greatest form of flattery!

You do some wonderful crafts. I love all of those cards that you pictured that your friend made. I would love to know how to make the Santa one to make with my grand kids, they would love it!

I have all kinds of stamps, punches, scrapbooking stuff but since I started blogging those things have gone untouched. I must set a time to get back into it as I LOVED scrapbooking and did many albums over a number of years.

Great posts Pam!!!!

Hi Pam,

I have really enjoyed your episodes of Day in the Life. Maybe you'll do it again. And your days are so filled with activities that I don't know how you manage to do them all.

Oh, I love the Pantoon Boat! I have some friends who have one on the river, and it is so nice to ride with them at a leisurely pace.

Lucky Jim, he even found some money. And yep, every little bit helps. LOL. Especially in todays economy.

By the way, I hate all the political litter everywhere. I am so glad it's almost over!

The fruit of your labor is beautiful! Stamping is such fun, isn't it?

This has been a most enjoyable series of posts!

Hugs,

Renie

Momzilla,

What a fabulous idea! I love this. It must create such...attentiveness to what is happening in each moment of your life. (How very Buddhist, and Christian of you!) I may have to start doing it, just for kicks. And for the spiritual exercise. My life, however, would be so much less interesting.

I posted a new blog. Don't worry, I've not gone all pagan on you!

Pam--Did you not just LOVE doing this?? (I can tell you did!) I had a blast doing it and am now waiting for my pics to arrive. I'm putting together my own little book (with chipboard and a binding machine. We'll see how it looks! lol). Noticing all the things--big and small--every day really became almost a spiritual exercise for me. Incredibly cool!

I have LOVED seeing your pictures and sharing your life with you! It's been AWESOME!!!

Hey again, Pam!! LOL If you liked this project, check out the latest one that Ali has on her blog. www.aliedwards.typepad.com. It's a daily album for December; I'm seriously thinking of doing it if I can get my butt in gear for it (you put it together before Dec. gets here, then just put pics and journaling and stuff into it). You might want to check it out.

Hi Pam,
I think I have that punch and my neighbor is really into the stamping, may even be a demonstrator now so I will check it out with her. Thanks!

Yes, T got the boots at Shepler's. They are not only pink but they have the little lights that twinkle when she walks. You've probably seen the kids with the sneakers that light up like that. She wears them all the time, wore out the pair I got her there last year so needed a new pair. Go for it girl! We all need some cowboy boots in our life whether we ride or not!!! :o)

Loved your series of posts! You do so much every day and have so much to write about. All I have done lately is work. This is a busy time of year for the business in FL, so it keeps me on my toes all the time!

Your calendar pages are just darling! Wish I had time to do stuff like that. I want to knit a baby bunting for a gift...hope I can get it done before Jan. 4th when the baby is due to arrive! It's for a little gal at the pet store. So much to do, yet so little time! LOL

Loved your post! I see you have another one I haven't read yet! I try to catch up on a few blogs every chance I get!
