We're safe and sound in our hotel in Omaha. Surprisingly, it's the same place we stayed two years ago when we drove. I didn't even realize it until we drove in and Jim recognized it. It's lovely, and best of all, has a restaurant so we didn't have to go out to eat. We are so tired after 11 hours of driving.
The scenery through the Rockies is just fantastic. It was one beautiful surprise after another as we drove the curvy roads through Colorado. Not so much when we got into Nebraska. Here it is just one cow pasture and cornfield after another. And flat...OMIGOSH.
Tomorrow will be exciting Iowa, Illinois, Indiana and Ohio. But, joy of joys, we'll then be just six hours from home.
