Monday Musings

So far, in the month of April, I have:
Really wimped out on my walking. My original excuse was the wind. I think I had mentioned that the wind was causing me to have fits with my allergies. So, I decided that I wouldn't walk in the wind. Makes sense, right? But what about all the other days with sun and no wind? I've just turned into a slug, I'm afraid.

Finished a mini scrapbook of our trip to Joshua Tree. So you see, I didn't just waste time while Jim was out walking. I forgot to take any pictures of the mini, but I am really pleased with it. Maybe I'll post a couple of pictures in my next post.
Bought two new pairs of shoes. The only think I hate more than shopping for a purse, is shopping for shoes. I have been needing new cross trainer walking shoes since we arrived here in February. Every week, Jim puts the ads for shoes out on my computer, and every week I look at them and put them in the recycling. Saturday, while I was at Staples buying some rings for my mini scrapbook, I stopped into shoe store. They were having a terrific sale. Buy one pair of shoes, get another 1/2 price. What a deal, but I just couldn't bring myself to try on shoes. We did, however, stop on our way home from church yesterday and I bought my cross trainers, plus a cool pair of sandals. YIPPEE!! Not only that, but I also bought two scarves in Target. Jim wants me to mention that he didn't get anything.

Watched the Big East get ousted from the Big Dance. Oh my, not only did Louisville not even make it to the Final Four, then both the Big East teams that did make it, got bounced on Saturday. Now I'm left with no one to root for. Oh well, I guess I'll just root for Michigan. No special reason.
Attended a most meaningful Palm Sunday Service. Palm Sunday marks the beginning of Holy Week. The children had a wonderful palm procession around the sanctuary to begin the service yesterday. This followed by a inspiring sermon and communion, was the perfect start to this most precious week in the church calendar. We also said, "Goodbye", to our church family here in Henderson. We will miss this wonderful congregation, but will be happy to be reunited with our church back home.

Spent a delightful evening watching the Fountains of Bellagio.

This is our all time favorite pass time in Las Vegas. We left home about 6 P.M., drove to the Bellagio and parked. After getting a cup of coffee to go, we walked to our spot (where we get the best view) and watched for the next 2-1/2 hours. It was a beautiful, balmy evening and we truly enjoyed ourselves.

Today, we are planning to take a trip out to Potosi Pines camp. PP's is where Gretchen volunteers at camp each summer. I came out to help with camp two years ago and plan to return to help this summer. Jim has never been to the camp, so we are really looking forward to our day.

The temperature is supposed to get up to 80 so we should have a lovely afternoon. Of course, we need to be back in time for the

The Big Dance.

I think I'll be happy when this is over and we can get on to another sport. Oh yes, that would be golf. Next weekend is

The Masters.

And Tiger is back.

Okay, I'm off. Have a great day.

Sounds like you are having a whirlwind of a time despire not walking! Poor Jim not getting anything!

I love Tiger. I tried to resist, tried to say he was a flash-in-the-pan but boy was I wrong. He actually seems like a very decent guy and a good husband/family man.

Hi Pam,

Well, now that you bought a new pair of cross trainers, you'll be ready for some hikes back home this spring, right? Of course, I'm not well versed on hiking shoes, but cross trainers must be for hiking, right? lol. I only hike around in my woods, with the dogs, and walk around the river trail with friends. I find that even an easy but steady walk of 40 mintes, does a world of good, especially an hour after a good meal. :-) We do that often.

I'm glad you had a nice Palm Sunday. We did as well. It was a beautiful day for it, and the service was beautiful, too. I'm hoping for nice weather for Easter Sunday, but whatever the weather will be, it will be a joyful Easter!

Love the fountains. What a great shot, and a most enjoyable post.

Have a wonderful rest of the week!

Hugs,

Renie

Hi Pam!

Nothing like watching water to relax a person! Sounded like a delightful evening! How on earth did you ever hold that coffee for 2 1/2 hours! I can't drink anything if I'm going to be out that long, especially coffee. Milk is even worse! That goes right through me! LOL

You asked about my guest bath redo...Well, all I can say is that it's a good thing I haven't had company! I am working in low gear....verrrry low gear....and getting tired of it all. ha-ha I plan to start the tile every night but then never get off the computer long enough! I am hooked on playing games now! LOL

I am going to try and do a post tomorrow, as we had Tammy's cats back to the oncologist's today for checkups. We saw a 206 pound Great Dane there! I got some funny pictures of him! He was one of three in that family! He was one...big...boy!!! He loved the cats, and Buster growled at him. Little did Buster realize the size of that big boy! ha-ha I'll post my finished bathroom whenever I get it finished...which could be awhile yet. I'm not as fast a worker as I used to be...ha-ha

Enjoy your last week there....we had 79 here Saturday, and now we are expecting 35 tonight and 31 tomorrow night! I hear Rochester, more than likely, will be 'shoveling' in the morning!

Have a safe trip home!!!

I too hate buying shoes! I used to be able to wear anything on my feet but now, notsomuch! Something about bonespurs that takes the fun out of buying shoes.

That must have been a wonderful show. Glad you enjoyed it so much!

We got a few snow flurries this morning......Darn! it really didn't amount to much though but it still is rather cold out.

It seems like your time went awfully fast there! Doesn't seem like you should be heading home so soon. How time flies when you're having a great time!! xoxo
