On the road again!

Easter was a wonderful day spent with Gretchen and Brian. We attended their church. It was nice to see their friends once before we left Nevada. It warms my heart to know they are surrounded by this group of dear people. Gretchen sings with the Praise Band at church and it was nice for us to hear her sing.

After a really nice brunch prepared by B&G, we relaxed and went for a long walk. It was a gorgeous day. We took a picture of Paige's birthday cupcakes, emailed it to her, and then called to sing happy birthday to her. She definitely appreciated the call, not too sure about our eating cupcakes in honor of her BD.

We grilled some cheddarwurst and ate on the patio later in the evening. It was, all in all, a very fun day, but bittersweet as at bedtime, we had to kiss the kiddos goodbye for another year. Well, a year for Jim. I'll be going back in July for ten days for camp. It is so very hard to leave our kids when we see so little of them.

We were on the road by 6 A.M., stopping at Dunkin DoNuts for a goodie and coffee. Although I slept for the first couple of hours on the road, I was awake for the most beautiful of the scenery. We have decided that no matter how many times we drive this route through Utah and Colorado, we will never cease to be amazed by its beauty.

I didn't take any pictures on this trip, but this is similar to the vistas we viewed today.

We drove about 630 miles today and plan to drive a little more than that tomorrow, ending up in Omaha, Nebraska. That said, I'll say good-night. Hope everyone has had a good Monday.

Oh, Pam! I can hear the saddness in your voice about leaving the kiddos! Have a safe trip "home". Hugs!

A long trip ahead! But you are enjoying the scenery, so that makes it more enjoyable. I love to ride like that and just see new things, and there is always something new to see, even if you've been over the same road a hundred times.

How cute to show the sign wishing Paige a Happy Birthday! That was pretty clever! Bet she got a big kick out of that when she saw it on your blog! Our kids are growing up while we are growing older, huh? ha-ha

Loved the post you did for Paige's birthday, too! So sweet!!!

Have a safe trip and know that I am riding along with you. I love maps, always did love geography in grade school, so I will pull it up to see where you are each night. I know it has to be hard to leave your kids...I did that, and it was the hardest thing I ever had to in my entire life. That's why we left IN and moved back to SC. It was kind of scary, as Stosh left the company after 23 years with them. But we feel we made the right move. But you have such a great place to vacation now and spend the winters! And the way time is flying by, it won't be long and you'll be back out there next winter!

I am still working on my guest bath! Still laying tile....but only when I feel like it! LOL 14 down so far! I am getting there, slow but sure! ha-ha

Be careful on your trip home...it's a long road ahead, but I'm still jealous of all the wonderful places and land you get to see on the way.

I can only imagine how hard it is to leave your kids. I know that will happen with us someday (soon with one of them!) and it makes me sad to even think about it. I know you have wonderful memories, though, of your time with them.

Drive careful and "see" ya soon!

Hi Pam,

Oh, it is always sad to say good bye to our kids. Two of mine live 700 miles away, so I know. I am lucky to have one closer, and he was here for Easter.

I am glad you had such a lovely Easter with your daughter and SIL before leaving, and now have the long trip home, with lots of beautiful scenery to enjoy on the way. Have a safe trip!

Hugs,

Renie
